R-J Online Film Festival seeks entries

Attention aspiring Las Vegas filmmakers: Are you having difficulty breaking into Hollywood? Now you can break into Vegas instead!

The Review-Journal is seeking short films by readers for its Online Film Festival. Finalists will be featured and profiled in the paper and online, and the winner(s) will be announced in the fall.

Your original comedy, drama, horror, nonfiction or artistic film must be three minutes or shorter and must involve Las Vegas in some way (as a setting, a theme or anything else). It should be posted to YouTube.

Most importantly — and we’re going to hold you to this — it must show a copy of the Review-Journal at least once, in any way you choose (the trash, bird cage liner, atop a table, etc.). This way we’ll know you’ve come up with an original work instead of rehashing something from school or some other assignment.

Think of it as the perfect opportunity to show off.

Submit a link to your YouTube short to clevitan@ reviewjournal.com by Sept. 30. Films submitted in any other way will not be considered.

We’ll come up with appropriate prizes for one or more entries that capture our fancy, and readers will have the opportunity to choose their favorite, too.

Good luck and … action!
