Here are a few things in news, entertainment and pop culture that we’ve been talking about lately.
■ BP CEO Tony Hayward will step down, likely because of his bungling of the Gulf oil spill. Congrats on getting your life back, you daft twit.
■ The “Jersey Shore” cast rings the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. And, on commodities exchanges, suntan lotion and penicillin futures take an immediate jump.
■ A New York City restaurateur creates the world’s most expensive — $69 — hot dog, which includes black truffles and foie gras. We suspect our bargain hot dog contains some pretty, ahem, exotic ingredients, too.
■ The Grateful Dead re-releases on vinyl five albums originally recorded between 1967 and 1970. For Deadheads who can’t quite remember whether they bought ’em the first time around.
