Explore Knowledge Academy will be closed Friday through Monday because of a power outage, the school posted to Facebook.
The school, located at 5871 Mountain Vista St. near East Russell Road will be canceled Friday through Monday because of a power surge causing one of the transformers to blow. The surge damaged the school’s air conditioning units and electrical system, filling one of its buildings with smoke, the school administration posted Thursday on Facebook. “It was not a safe environment for our students.”
All schoolwork, including project deadlines will be extended. Students may reclaim their personal belongings when they return to the school Tuesday, according to the administration.
The school advises parents to “please continue to watch your email and/or Facebook for important updates.”
