A multiple-vehicle crash triggered by a driver’s medical episode caused major delays Tuesday afternoon near the central valley intersection of Rancho Drive and Washington Avenue.
The 2:32 p.m. crash involved six cars, and at least one person was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition, Metro spokesman Jesse Roybal said.
The entire intersection — near Rancho’s U.S. Highway 95 on-ramp — was shut down for a few hours as police documented the crash scene.
No update was available Tuesday night on the condition of the person taken to the hospital.
