Two men were killed in a rollover crash Tuesday afternoon west of the Las Vegas Valley, according to authorities.

Police said the single-vehicle crash occurred just after 5:4o p.m. Tuesday on Tecopa Springs Road at Mile Marker 1.

In a news release, the Metropolitan Police Department said a 2008 BMW 328i was traveling northbound at an excessive speed on Tecopa Springs when it crashed.

“For an unknown reason, the BMW left the roadway to the right, entered the desert area, and overturned several times,” police said.

The BMW’s driver and a passenger were pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

The Clark County coroner’s office on Wednesday morning identified the driver as Juan Noriega Caldera, 31, and the passenger as Roland Quintanilla, 49. Police said both men lived in Tecopa, California.
