Boy, 13, dies after near-drowning days earlier
A 13-year-old boy died Saturday after a near drowning at a southeast Las Vegas apartment complex earlier in the week.
The Clark County coroner’s office identified the boy as Mikael Jose Luis Medrano of Las Vegas.
Medrano was found unresponsive in an apartment complex pool in the 3100 block of South Nellis Boulevard on Thursday around 11 p.m, according to Las Vegas police. He was transported to Sunrise Children’s Hospital where he died two days later.
This is the first fatal drowning in the police’s jurisdiction this year.
