Coroner identifies girl who died after North Las Vegas accident

The 7-year-old girl who died Wednesday after being hit by a truck Friday night in North Las Vegas has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.
Nevaeh Meon Malone of Las Vegas was struck while walking with her uncle about 9 p.m. in a crosswalk on Commerce Street near Kraft Avenue. She was taken to University Medical Center with critical injuries, where she died Wednesday.
Nevaeh was the great-niece of Las Vegas City Councilman Ricki Barlow. He was not the uncle who was with the girl when the accident occurred.
No official cause of death was available.
The driver of the Ford truck remained on the scene and has not been charged, police said.
