Coroner IDs inmate found dead in Henderson jail
An inmate at the Henderson Detention Center who was found dead of an apparent suicide Tuesday afternoon has been identified by the Clark County coroner’s office.
He is Tyrone Pye, 42, the coroner’s office said Thursday.
Pye was found lying on the floor in his cell about 3 p.m., Henderson spokeswoman Kathleen Richards said Wednesday. He was pronounced dead at the scene
Corrections officers found a suicide note in Pye’s cell. The coroner has not released his official cause of death.
Pye was arrested on Nov. 28 and faced charges of destruction of property, carrying a concealed knife and resisting arrest, Richards said.
