No injuries were reported after a fire burned down a former wedding chapel in downtown Las Vegas on Tuesday night.
Firefighters were called around 5:25 p.m. to the vacant, single-story chapel at 1431 Las Vegas Blvd. South, according to a Las Vegas Fire Department news release. Thirty units with 70 fire personnel were on scene.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but the building was “completely destroyed.” The Fire Department estimated the damage at $1 million.
Las Vegas Boulevard South will remain closed in the area overnight while crews work.
