Golden Rainbow’s 27th annual Ribbon Of Life event raised more than $152,000 through ticket sales and a silent auction to help combat HIV-AIDS.

The event took place June 30 at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, 361 Symphony Park Ave., and featured performances by local and national talent .

10TH OF THE MONTH DONOR PROGRAM

HELP of Southern Nevada is launching its $10 on the 10th recurring donor program, which encourages residents to make a difference in their community by donating $10 on the 10th of every month.

To sign up, visit helpsonv.org, click “Get Involved” and scroll down to donate, labeling $10 on the 10th in the description. Donors can select the frequency of a recurring donation by using the drop-down box. Sign-ups on behalf of someone are also available as gifts.

ABOUT MEDICARE COVERAGE

A Medicare information workshop co-sponsored by the Nevada Division for Aging Services is scheduled at 3 p.m. July 22 at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

Representatives from multiple organizations are set to field questions about Medicare, benefits and beneficiaries, caregiver protection, deductibles and co-pays, how to file a claim, how to detect and report Medicare fraud and abuse and information about other programs.

THEATER OFFERS CLASSES FOR YOUTHS

The Las Vegas Little Theatre is offering Summer Youth Theatre Academy classes for students ages 7 to 13.

Students may register for one or more sessions. Each week is to end with a performance by the students.

Classes are set from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The dates are July 22-26 for the Drama: Why the Long Face? program; and July 29-Aug. 2 for the Mystery: Who Done It? sessions.

Classes are $250 per week for each student. The academy is conducted by Emily Fagan, a certified speech, theater and English teacher.
