Feds give Boulder City Hospital $2M for e-records

The Boulder City Hospital is getting nearly $2 million in federal funds to move from paper to electronic health records.

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced Friday that the hospital had won a $1.7 million grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development program.

The grant comes on the heels of a $13 million award the hospital won last year to help renovate and expand its facilities.

Reid said the funds will help the hospital respond more efficiently to patient needs and will cut costs.
