Fuel spill closes part of Interstate 15

A fuel spill from a tractor-trailer caused a shutdown on southbound Interstate 15 and Sahara around 6 a.m. Thursday morning.

According to Nevada Highway Patrol, 30 gallons of diesel fuel spilled onto the freeway after a minor traffic collision caused a rupture in a tractor-trailer fuel tank.

HAZMAT was called to the scene and two of the left lanes, as well as the right shoulder of the Sahara exit, were shut down while the spill was cleaned.

The spill has since been cleaned up and normal commute has resumed.
