Henderson house fire displaces woman, dog

A Henderson house fire displaced a woman and caused damages estimated at $67,000 early Wednesday, according to the fire department.

Firefighters responded about 6:40 a.m. to a fire on Running River Road, near Green Valley Parkway at Warm Springs Road. They found heavy smoke coming from the rear of the single-story residence, and were able to put the fire out.

A woman in her 60s was home at the time of the fire and was treated by first responders for smoke inhalation, the fire department said. The woman and her dog were displaced by the fire and are receiving help from the American Red Cross.

The fire was ruled an accident.
