Henderson man arrested in fatal 2014 bar fight

A man Henderson police say killed a man by punching him in the head at a bar in November 2014 was arrested Thursday.

Steven Phillip Dyer, 47, of Henderson, was booked into the Henderson Detention Center and charged with murder, the city said in a release Monday.

Scott Snyder, 48, argued with Dyer during a game of pool at Gold Mine Tavern, 23 Water St., on Nov. 10, the release said.

During the altercation, police say Dyer punched Snyder in the head, causing serious injuries. Snyder was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in critical condition, and he died eight months later on June 6.

At the time of the fight, Dyer was arrested and charged with battery.

Snyder’s death marks the third murder in Henderson this year, the release said.
