Henderson seeks residents’ ideas to improve city’s age-friendliness
The city of Henderson wants to be more “age-friendly,” and wants ideas from its residents on how to do so.
Henderson was accepted into the AARP’s “age-friendly” community network earlier this month, recognizing the city for its housing design, public transportation and community programs open to residents of all ages.
As part of the program, the city is tasked with getting input from its residents to further its “age-friendliness.” It recently put a survey on its website to gauge how residents feel about their community.
The average age of Henderson residents, 41, is higher than the national city average of 37 years old, the city said. Nearly one-fourth of the city’s residents are older than 60.
