Las Vegas boy with history of being abused dies
A boy with a history of being abused died last week, the Clark County Department of Family Services said.
A department report said the boy was found unresponsive Sept. 5 and hospitalized. He was listed in critical condition before dying Sept. 8.
The child was a 1-year-old boy, the Clark County coroner’s office said; his cause and manner of death were pending.
The report said the boy suffered “nonaccidental trauma” in 2016. Washoe County Department of Social Services received a report of abuse May 31, 2016. Investigators determined the report was substantiated, the report said, and the boy was given to the nonoffending parent. The case was closed Aug. 19, 2016.
The Clark County department has no history with the boy or his family, the report said. The organization is investigating.
