Las Vegas Valley to feel cooler temperatures in coming week

Las Vegans who have been waiting for a drop in temperature will get their wish early next week.

The National Weather Service forecasts high temperatures in the Las Vegas Valley will dip below 80 degrees by Tuesday.

Today’s projected high is 92 degrees with a low of 64 degrees and light winds. Saturday and Sunday are expected to have highs of 89 and 91 degrees, respectively.

The fall in temperatures will begin on Monday, with a projected high of 84 degrees. That trend will continue through Thursday, with highs predicted in the mid-70s.

Low temperatures will drop to 60 degrees on Monday and go down to 57 degrees by Wednesday night.

Official temperatures are recorded at McCarran Internatonal Airport.

Stormy weather is also a possibility next week. Clouds will begin moving in this weekend and Columbus Day on Monday is expected to be mostly cloudy.

There will be a slight chance of showers from Tuesday to Thursday.

The change in weather is being attributed to a storm system that is expected to move through California and southern Nevada throughout the next week. The National Weather Service projects that areas above 8,000 feet like the White Mountains, Spring Mountains and southern Sierra Nevada will see snowfall.
