Leprechaun stops traffic in Las Vegas crosswalk — PHOTOS

What’s the best way to promote pedestrian safety in Clark County? Have a Clark County School District detective dress up as a leprechaun and talk to drivers.

Detective Thomas Rainey did just that during a crosswalk event March 13 at the corner of Jones Boulevard and Dewey Drive, where a 15-year-old was struck by a car last month while crossing in the crosswalk.

Law enforcement officers monitored the area and spoke with community members in order to garner attention to the ever-present Las Vegas issue — auto-pedestrian accidents and fatalities.
