Man dead after fight, stabbing near Stratosphere
A man was fatally stabbed Wednesday night just east of the Stratosphere, the Metropolitan Police Department said.
Officers were called to the 2000 block of Santa Rita Drive, a neighborhood street near Sahara Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard South, at 8:23 p.m., Metro spokeswoman officer Laura Meltzer said.
A caller told police there was a initially a fight and the stabbing happened just afterward.
The stabbed man was transported to University Medical Center’s trauma unit, where he died.
This was the second homicide in the valley Wednesday night. A separate homicide near Lake Mead Boulevard and Pecos Road left one male dead at 7:23 p.m.
