Body found at edge of Las Vegas Review-Journal complex

A man’s body was found near the Las Vegas Review-Journal complex early Thursday, officials said.
No foul play was suspected in the death, said Clark County coroner’s office spokesperson Stephanie Wheatley in a text message to the Review-Journal. Wheatley said the body was that of a man, but that the person’s identity had not yet been determined.
An email from a Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson said a body was found in the 1100 block of West Bonanza Road just before 1:30 a.m. and that “officers assisted the coroner and took a non-criminal/medical report.”
The body was discovered near the off-ramp from westbound Interstate 11 to northbound Martin Luther King Boulevard.
A Review-Journal security guard said a man’s body was in a bag, according to Benjamin Lipman, the Review-Journal’s senior vice president and chief legal officer.
According to Lipman, a Review-Journal employee reported a foul smell early Thursday. Police were then called, which led to the discovery, Lipman said.
The body was found in a narrow, fenced-off area between the newspaper’s property, which occupies 1111 and 1211 W. Bonanza Road, and the off-ramp.
The man’s cause of death had not been released by the coroner’s office as of Thursday afternoon.
