Motorcyclist killed in Saturday crash identified
A motorcyclist who was killed in an early Saturday morning crash on the 215 Beltway near Aliante Parkway has been identified.
He is Neil Jared Sonerholm, 40, of North Las Vegas, the Clark County coroner’s office said.
A pickup westbound on the Beltway crossed the median into the path of Sonerholm and another motorcyclist about 4:10 a.m., Nevada Highway Patrol said. The other motorcyclist was able to avoid a crash, while Sonerholm and the pickup collided.
Sonerholm was thrown off the bike and both the motorcycle and the pickup caught fire, NHP said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
