One dead in shooting near Lake Mead and Jones
Las Vegas police on Saturday were investigating the shooting death of a man at an apartment complex at 5801 W. Lake Mead Blvd., near North Jones Boulevard.
Police received a call about a shooting at the complex at 4:33 p.m. and found a man who had died at the scene, according to officer Larry Hadfield.
A preliminary investigation conducted by Metro’s Homicide Section indicated that the death was a result of an accidental discharge.
Investigators determined the victim accidentally shot himself while handling a firearm, Hadfield said.
