Police evacuate apartments after getting call on suicidal man

Las Vegas police evacuated a southeast valley apartment complex after a man in one of the units threatened to harm himself with a large knife Thursday morning, according to Metro.
Police got the call about a suicidal man at 7:50 a.m. at Shelter Island, 3770 Swenson St., near Twain Avenue.
The man refused to come out of his apartment, but police left the complex just after 9:30 a.m. in an attempt to de-escalate the situation, Metro spokeswoman Laura Meltzer said.
