Progressive groups and immigration attorneys, among others, hosted a free citizenship workshop at the College of Southern Nevada’s Cheyenne campus Saturday morning.

The “Why Wait Citizenship Workshop” was organized to assist more than 200 legal permanent residents file N-400 paperwork to become U.S. citizens. Assemblyman Edgar Flores, D-Las Vegas, and Sen. Ruben Kihuen, D-Las, were among the nearly 100 volunteers who assisted applicants under the supervision of immigration attorneys and staff from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.
