Search and rescue finds hikers who were reported missing in Kyle Canyon

Two hikers who went missing in the Kyle Canyon area of Mount Charleston on Tuesday afternoon were found unharmed after more than two hours of searching, officials said.

A trio of young hikers was in the Mary Jane Falls area Tuesday afternoon when two were reportedly injured. The third, “frantic” hiker made it out, reached the fire station at 25 Ski Chalet Place and contacted medics and police.

The Metropolitan Police Department could not confirm whether the hikers were injured as of 3:30 p.m. because the hikers had not been found.

About 4:30 p.m., when the two hikers were found, both were OK and did not request medical assistance, police said. It’s unclear how the pair became lost or why the third hiker believed they were hurt.
