Teen found in North Dakota prostitution sting located

A teenage victim of human trafficking was located Wednesday after she ran away from authorities at the airport last week, Las Vegas police said.

The 16-year-old Las Vegas girl left McCarran International Airport last week when her plane landed before Clark County Juvenile Justice Services arrived. The girl had been listed as a runaway.

Police found her with a 14-year-old Las Vegas girl during a human trafficking sting in North Dakota, according to Minot Police Department spokesman Capt. John Klug.

A tip to authorities from the mother of one of two teen girls led to a sting operation resulting in the arrest of Tayari Chanel Meadows, 20, of Las Vegas, Klug said. Police said the mother contacted them after emails led her to her daughter’s photo on a site often used to advertise prostitution.

Undercover officers set up a “date” through the website and were met by Meadows, who led them to the girl. The investigation also led police to Fleming and another victim, a 16-year-old girl.

Kevin Jackson Fleming, 18, was taken into custody Monday in connection with the crimes and will face extradition on felony charges, the North Dakota police department said.
