Woman killed in single-vehicle crash

A Las Vegas woman died early Wednesday after she lost control of her vehicle and crashed into light poles and a block wall in the southwest valley, according to police.

Angela Marie Bair, 46, of Las Vegas, was speeding while heading west on Russell Road in a 2006 Ford Mustang, Metro Lt. David Gordon said. She crashed about 2:45 a.m. after the Mustang crossed Grand Canyon Drive, went airborne and ran onto the sidewalk near Iron Rock Drive, Metro said in a release.

After striking two light posts, a control box and a residential block wall, police said, the sports car came to rest.

Fragments from the block wall littered a nearby residence and injured the homeowner, the release said.

Bair was pronounced dead at the scene.

Russell Road was closed for seven hours during the investigation.

This is the 60th traffic-related fatality this year in Metro’s jurisdiction.
