Woman suffering life-threatening injuries from overnight crash

A woman was in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in the central valley early Sunday morning.
Mark Jolly, 65, of Las Vegas was driving east on Desert Inn Road west of Schirll Avenue, near the intersection of Arville Street, about 3:30 a.m., when his 2010 Volkswagen Beetle struck the female pedestrian outside of a marked crosswalk, according to Metro.
The woman, who wasn’t immediately identified, was transported to University Medical Center Trauma with life-threatening injuries, police said.
Desert Inn was closed in both directions between Arville Street and Decatur Boulevard nearly five hours while police investigated. It reopened about 8:30 a.m.
Metro’s Accident Investigations Section was still investigating the collision.
