Northern Nevada high school coach accused of giving teens drugs, alcohol

RENO — An assistant football coach at Hug High School is accused of providing alcohol and marijuana to two female students at his home.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reported 28-year-old Ryan Johnson was arrested Tuesday after the girls told their parents and school police were notified.

Authorities said Johnson was charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance to a minor. Both are felonies. He also was charged with misdemeanor offenses of possession of drug paraphernalia and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Washoe County School District Police Chief Mike Mieras said the two girls left with Johnson in his car shortly after lunch Tuesday. They reported what happened when they returned to school.
