A man died Sunday afternoon after he was speeding and the car veered off the road, sending it flying into the air and flipping it upside down, according to the North Las Vegas Police Department.

The 32-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Officers found the man unconscious at the scene near Camino al Norte and Edna Crane Avenue around 12:04 p.m.

A 29-year-old woman was also in the car. She was transported to University Medical Center with “serious injuries,” police said.

Police said the SUV was traveling on Camino Al Norte at an “extremely high” speed, and the driver lost control. The car went onto the east side of Camino Al Norte and flew in the air, hitting several large boulders before landing upside down at the northeast corner of the intersection, police said.
