Air quality advisory ends; cooling stations to stay open through Thursday
The air quality advisory in the Las Vegas Valley concluded on Tuesday, but cooling stations will remain open for residents due to continued excessive heat.
Tuesday saw a high of 112 degrees and a low of 87 degrees, National Weather Service meteorologist Andy Gorelow said.
Wednesday will see a high of 112 degrees, and have sunny clear skies, Gorelow said. Thursday will have a high near 113 degrees and Friday is likely to see a high of 110 degrees, he said.
Chances for rain are about 20 percent for the valley and 30 to 40 percent for the mountains. Chances for thunderstorms in the valley increase Saturday, Gorelow said.
The forecasted high is 107 degrees on Saturday, 105 degrees on Sunday and 104 degrees on Monday, according to the weather service.
Additional cooling stations will remain in operation through Thursday, according to a Clark County media release.
