Cool temps to continue until weekend warm-up in Las Vegas Valley

The Las Vegas Valley can expect unseasonably cool temperatures until a drastic warm-up over the weekend, the National Weather Service said.

Thursday’s forecast high is 80 degrees, which is 10 degrees below average, meteorologist Barry Pierce said. Skies will be mostly sunny Thursday.

A cold front sweeping the valley will bring north winds ranging between 10 and 15 mph Thursday and Friday. Winds should begin easing up Saturday while temperatures steadily climb, the weather service said.

Forecasts moving into the weekend and next week “will be more seasonable or above normal,” Pierce said.

By Saturday and Sunday, temperature highs will jump to the upper 80s and mid 90s.
