Wind, lower temps on the way for Las Vegas Valley

Winds will pick up Sunday as temperatures begin to fall, the National Weather Service said.

Saturday was warm and sunny with a high of 93 degrees, with 10-20 mph winds in the afternoon, meteorologist Todd Lericos said.

Sunday’s forecast high is 88 degrees; winds are expected in the 20-30 mph range with gusts of up to 40 mph, Lericos said.

The Clark County Department of Air Quality has issued a dust advisory for Sunday afternoon through Monday morning. Blowing dust can affect drivers’ visibility and can be hazardous for people with respiratory problems.

Monday promises to be a cool and breezy 75 degrees, and temperatures will begin to rise again Tuesday with a forecast high of 80 degrees, Lericos said.

The 90-degree temperatures aren’t likely to return during the week, and no rain is expected, he said.
