GIRLS BOWLING: Bishop Gorman’s Leah Glazer leads individual qualifiers

Bishop Gorman’s Leah Glazer rolled a 636 series on Thursday during the Class 4A individual state qualifying round at Gold Coast Bowling Center.

Glazer was the only bowler in either Class 3A or 4A to top 600.

Las Vegas’ Gabriella Weis was second with 562, followed by Silverado’s Marisa Philippi (555), Coronado’s Kiara Ackerman (549), Valley’s Savannah Decker (546) and Sierra Vista’s Vanessa Fuzie (543). All six qualified for Friday’s finals, which will be at 2:30 p.m. at Gold Coast.

Tech’s Eri Leong was the top 3A qualifier with a 545. The Meadows’ Scarlett Gordon (510), Mojave’s Maria Richardson (469), Tech’s Angelica Rosado (459) and Kristina Flores (453) and Cheyenne’s Michelle Hall (444) were the other bowlers to advance to the finals.

Thursday’s qualifying scores do not carry over to the finals.
