Reed tops Pioneers in season opener
Brandon Mondragon threw four first-half touchdown passes to lead Reed to a 34-14 win over visiting Canyon Springs in Sparks on Saturday.
The Pioneers cut the lead to 14-7 on a 2-yard TD run by Curtis Davis with 47 seconds to go in the first quarter, but Mondragon threw two more TD passes to extend the lead to 28-7 at the half.
Jamal Martin hit DeShaun Stewart with a 50-yard TD pass in the third quarter for the Pioneers.
