ROUNDUP: Nuernberg’s sac fly helps Spartans top Bulldogs

Josh Nuernberg’s sacrifice fly to left field plated Effie Garcia with the go-ahead run in the top of the sixth inning Friday and helped Cimarron-Memorial’s baseball team to a 7-5 win at Centennial.

Garcia singled with one out and went to third on a fielding error before Nuernberg’s fly ball.

Garcia was 2-for-4, and Dominic Calabria went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Spartans.

Casey Moses was 3-for-4 with a run scored, and Michael Rosenkrantz went 1-for-3 with three RBIs for the Bulldogs.

Faith Lutheran 11, Mojave 3 — At Faith Lutheran, Zach Skipper went 2-for-3 with a home run to lead the Crusaders to victory.

Dakota Greenawalt added a three-run homer in the fifth inning for Faith Lutheran, which took over with five runs in the second.

Sierra Vista 12, Pahrump Valley 5 — At Sierra Vista, William Silcox went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and seven RBIs to lift the Mountain Lions past the Trojans.

Cole Crosby was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to help Sierra Vista, which put it away with six runs in the sixth inning.

Aukai Alameda went 2-for-3 with two RBIs to lead Pahrump.

Spring Valley 7, Durango 3 — At Durango, winning pitcher Robby Brewster went 3-for-3 with a home run, a double, two runs scored and three RBIs to lead the Grizzlies past the Trailblazers.

Cody Foremaster was 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI for Spring Valley.

Anthony Martine went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs for Durango.

Desert Oasis 23, Clark 0 — At Desert Oasis, Mike Maiello went 3-for-5 with two triples, a double, four runs and four RBIs as the Diamondbacks routed the Chargers in five innings.

Joe Paratore was 3-for-3 with a triple, a double and an RBI, and Kyle Motis went 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs and three RBIs for Desert Oasis.

Tyler Condie tossed a two-hitter and struck out five for the Diamondbacks.

Arbor View 19, Cheyenne 3 — At Arbor View, Zach Quintana went 2-for-2 with a double, two runs and two RBIs as the Aggies routed the Desert Shields in five innings.

Joey Comish went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and an RBI, and Tyler LeBaron belted a two-run home run for Arbor View.

Liberty 8, Eldorado 3 — At Liberty, Preston Pavlica went 2-for-3 with a triple and four RBIs, and the Patriots used a five-run third inning to down the Sundevils.

Mike Vargas was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Josh McCollum went 2-for-4 for Liberty.

Sammy Gonzales and Jonathan Rodarte each went 2-for-3, and Lucio Arreola was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Eldorado.

Bishop Gorman 8, Carroll (Texas) 4 — At Cary, N.C., Michael Blasko went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI to lead the Gaels past Carroll in the USA Baseball National High School Invitational.

Tyler Baker was 2-for-4, and Justin Jones was 2-for-5 for Gorman, which got a single and two RBIs apiece from Kenny Meimerstorf, Jerrell Latham and Joey Gallo.

Adam Wozniak tossed a six-hitter for the Gaels.

Boulder City 9, Bonanza 3 — At Boulder City, Bill Barth went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI to help the Eagles defeat the Bengals.

Aubrey Wrightsman went 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Colton Bosnos went 2-for-3 with two RBIs to help Boulder City.

Bonanza got a solo home run from Austin Taft.

Rock Canyon (Colo.) 9, Basic 8 — At Basic, the Wolves rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh, but couldn’t complete the comeback.

Basic had runners at second and third when a strikeout ended the game.

Ryan Weldon was 3-for-3 with three RBIs, including a two-run double in the seventh for Basic. Dean Gettman and Josh Gray each added two hits for the Wolves.

Moapa Valley 14-18, Virgin Valley 3-3 — At Mesquite, Jared Repp tossed a six-inning five-hitter with eight strikeouts in the opener, and Josh Repp followed with a five-inning five-hitter with 11 strikeouts in the nightcap as the Pirates swept the Bulldogs.

Jared Repp went 2-for-2 with a triple, a double and three RBIs, and Landon Willard was 2-for-3 with three RBIs for the Pirates in the first game.

Cason Hughes went 3-for-4 with a double, three runs and two RBIs in the second game for Moapa Valley.

Kyle Tostenson was 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI in the first game for Virgin Valley.

Mountain View 10-3, Laughlin 8-5 — At Mountain View, Logan Christie tossed a complete game and went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs and two RBIs in the opener to help the Saints earn a split with the Cougars.

Corey Beggs tossed a nine-hitter in the nightcap for Laughlin, which took advantage of two errors in the fourth inning to score three runs.

Mountain View’s Trevor Van Kempen spun a four-hitter and fanned nine in the second game.

Needles 19-19, Calvary Chapel 6-0 — At Calvary Chapel, Matt McAndrews went a combined 7-for-10 with four doubles and pitched a six-inning one-hitter with 15 strikeouts in the second game to lead the Mustangs to a sweep of the Lions.

Needles’ Austin Baldwin went 7-for-10 with two doubles and two triples on the day.
