Foothill scores four TDs in first quarter, rolls past Chaparral

Eighth-ranked Foothill (2-0) scored four touchdowns in the first quarter and coasted to a 53-20 home win over Chaparral (0-2) on Fridady.

Senior Connor Afoa ran for a 97-yard touchdown and finished wih 113 on four carries to spark Foothill’s 330-yard ground game Afoa also scored on a 38-yard interception return and 68-yard punt return.

Falcons quarterback Parker Riggin completed 5 of 6 passes for three touchdowns, including two to Kyle Keplinger for 15 and 29 yards.

Keplinger switched off at wide receiver, quarterback and running back throughout the game.

Chaparral’s Zachary Luciano passed for 215 yards, with junior Toure Williams making three catches for 135 yards, including a 30-yard touchdown. Antonio Thomas scored on a 77-yard kickoff return for the Cowboys.
