Moapa Valley tops Cheyenne’s JV
Moapa Valley’s Hayden Cooper made three receptions and scored on two of them, helping the Pirates (2-2) defeat Cheyenne’s junior varsity 59-6 in Overton on Thursday.
Cooper, who had 106 yards receiving, scored in the third quarter on receptions of 79 and 18 yards from Kelan Weiss.
Weiss, 9 of 12 passes for 192 yards, also threw a 36-yard TD pass to Casen Lewis in the first quarter.
Dakota Gordon led all rushers with 55 yards and a touchdown on four carries. Hayden Waite added a 3-yard TD, and Riley Solomon scored on a 5-yard run.
