Schaper, who had a 72 in his opening round at Boulder City Municipal on Monday, had 16 pars, one birdie and one bogey in a steady round and finished with a two-round total of 144.

Mojave’s Marcus Mullins shot 75 for the second consecutive day and finished in second place, six shots behind Schaper.

The Eagles’ Jackson Wright carded a 74 on Tuesday and finished third at 151, five strokes ahead of Western’s Jared Smith.

Boulder City easily won the team competition. The Eagles’ second-day team score was 311 and gave the team a two-round total of 621. Pahrump Valley was the only other school to field a scoring team and finished at 705.

Both teams and all six individuals not on a qualifying team advance to next week’s state tournament at Mountain Falls.
