Bishop Gorman senior Vashti Cunningham broke the American High School and American Junior records in the girls high jump Saturday, clearing 6 feet, 5 inches to win the gold medal in the Pan American Junior Championships in Edmonton, Alberta.

Cunningham already owned the high school mark of 6-4¼.

Her effort Saturday also tied the World Youth Record.
