ROUNDUP: Lehr, Baca help Aggies topple host Bulldogs

Letty Valenzuela ripped a two-run triple in the Aggies’ eight-run fourth inning. Centennial committed three errors in the inning, leading to four unearned runs.

Heather Bowen launched a two-run homer, and Taylor Huntly hit a solo shot for the Bulldogs.

Savannah Horvath and Madison Henzlik each finished 2-for-4 for Centennial.

Legacy 7, Faith Lutheran 1 — At Legacy, Sierra Pico pitched a two-hitter, striking out nine, to lead the Longhorns past the Crusaders.

Pico also went 2-for-2 with two doubles and an RBI to help Legacy. Teammate Danielle Pick went 2-for-2 and scored two runs.

Chaparral 5, Valley 0 — At Valley, Nicole Lesniak tossed a one-hitter with no walks and 14 strikeouts as the Cowboys blanked the Vikings.

Lauren Lesniak went 3-for-4 with a double, and Peyton Hunton was 2-for-5 with two RBIs for Chaparral.

Tech 9, Liberty 2 — At Tech, Amanda Roark spun a five-hitter, fanning 11 and walking one to lead the Roadrunners to victory over the Patriots.

Kimmie Rodriguez went 3-for-4 with an RBI double, and Ashley Ramsey was 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Tech, which got three hits and an RBI from Jamison Bascom.

Palo Verde 17, Mojave 1 — At Palo Verde, Melissa Lacro went 3-for-3 with a triple, a double and two RBIs and tossed a five-inning four-hitter with 10 strikeouts to lead the Panthers past the Rattlers.

Rachel Williams was 3-for-3 with a double and four RBIs for Palo Verde.

Cimarron-Memorial 16, Cheyenne 0 — At Cimarron, Sabrina Chavez went 2-for-3 with a triple, a double, five RBIs and three runs as the Spartans routed the Desert Shields.

Sarah Murphy went 3-for-4 with a triple, three RBIs and two runs for Cimarron, and teammate Katy Rusk was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Carmen Hasbrouk was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and two RBis for the Spartans.

Vanessa Sanders went 2-for-3 for Cheyenne. 

Eldorado 12, Desert Pines 0 — At Eldorado, Taylor Schroeder went 4-for-4 with a triple and a double, and Brook Ortiz was 4-for-4 as the Sundevils downed the Jaguars in five innings.

Winning pitcher Ashley Jarzombek struck out eight in three innings.

Rancho 12, Canyon Springs 7 — At Rancho, Jacey Kelley’s three-run triple broke a 6-6 tie and propelled the Rams past the Pioneers.

Kelley finished 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and three RBIs.

Foothill 5, Salpointe Catholic (Ariz.) 4 — At Torrance, Calif., winning pitcher Alex Petrolia singled in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning to help the Falcons rally for a victory over the Lancers in the National Invitational Tournament.

The win lifted Foothill into Saturday’s semifinal round.

Rhianna Balaun and Chelsi Stewart each went 3-for-4 with a double for the Falcons, who trailed 3-0 after three innings.

Torrance (Calif.) 6, Green Valley 5 — At Torrance, Calif., the Tartars scored the winning run on a bloop single in the top of the seventh inning to nip the Gators in the National Invitational Tournament.

Autumn Owens went 2-for-3 with a double, and Fenixx Henderson was 2-for-4 for Green Valley.

El Modena (Calif.) 11, Green Valley 1 — At Torrance, Calif., El Modena scored in each of the five innings in a win over the Gators in the National Invitational Tournament.

Maggie Manwarren went 2-for-3 for Green Valley.

Mountain Ridge (Ariz.) 6, Coronado 2 — At Torrance, Calif., Mountain Ridge scored twice in the top of the first inning and never looked back en route to a win over the Cougars in the National Invitational Tournament.

Lauren Buck went 2-for-3, and Katie Cochran was 1-for-2 with an RBI for Coronado.

Freedom (Calif.) 4, Coronado 2 — At Torrance, Calif., Freedom built a 4-0 lead after five innings and held off the Cougars in the National Invitational Tournament.

Cochran was 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI for Coronado.

Boulder City 13-19, Moapa Valley 2-0 — At Overton, Karlee Koopman went a combined 6-for-7 with a double and a home run, and pitched a five-inning three-hitter with four strikeouts in the first game to highlight a sweep for the Eagles.

Boulder City’s Ali Rants was 3-for-5 with two runs and a triple in the first game, and Alex Frye finished 3-for-5 in the second game.

Koopman and Amanda Perez combined on a five-inning one-hitter in the second game.

Laughlin 10-15, Calvary Chapel 2-4 — At Laughlin, Cassie Beggs pitched a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts in the first game and a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts in the second game to help the Cougars sweep the Lions.

Beggs went 6-for-8 with three doubles in the doubleheader.

Laughlin’s Katelyn Skillingstad went 5-for-8 in the two games, and Paty Valdez was 4-for-8.

Needles 25-31, Lake Mead 1-8 — At Tuscany Park, the Mustangs pounded out 51 hits in a pair of five-inning games.

Taylor Vetter went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs, and Megan Watkins was 2-for-2 with two runs in the second game for Lake Mead.

Indian Springs 10-13, Tonopah 9-0 — At Tonopah, Heather Thormahlen went 3-for-5 with a double, three runs and an RBI as the Thunderbirds slipped past the Muckers in the first game of a doubleheader sweep.

Deanna Van Poucke went 3-for-5 with a triple and two RBIs for Tonopah.

In the second game, Brandi Bryl threw a five-hitter with five strikeouts and went 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs to lead Indian Springs.

Baylee McCormick was 2-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs for the Thunderbirds.
