ROUNDUP: McCrosky’s perfect game leads Lynx to sweep

Kacey McCrosky tossed a five-inning perfect game in the opener of a doubleheader Saturday to help Lincoln County’s softball team to a sweep of visiting Mountain View.

The Lynx won the opener 18-0 and took the five-inning nightcap, 24-4.

McCrosky struck out 12 of the 15 batters she faced in the first game. Jaycee Wadsworth had a home run for Lincoln County, which led 11-0 after two innings.

In the second game, Hatty Brown homered, and the Lynx scored nine times in each of the first two innings on the way to the win.

Coronado 10, Salpointe Catholic (Ariz.) 2 At Torrance, Calif., Emily Hendrix went 3-for-3, and Katie Cochran was 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs as the Cougars downed the Lancers in the National Invitational Tournament.

Haley Harrison was 2-for-3 with a double for Coronado.

Coronado 11, Rialto (Calif.) 1 — At Torrance, Calif., Danielle Amato tossed a four-inning four-hitter and went 2-for-2 with a double and four RBIs to help the Cougars top the Knights in the National Invitational Tournament.

Alyssa Ayers was 2-for-2 with three runs and an RBI, and Cochran went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Coronado.

Norco (Calif.) 5, Foothill 0 — At Torrance, Calif., Abby Lockman hit a solo home run to help Norco top the Falcons in the semifinals of the National Invitational Tournament.

Norco is ranked No. 2 in the country by ESPN.

Gabby Canibeyaz was 2-for-3 for Foothill.

Torrance (Calif.) 10, Foothill 2 — At Torrance, Calif., the Tartars scored nine runs in the final two innings to top the Falcons in the third-place game of the National Invitational Tournament.

Six different Foothill players had a single each.

Piedra Vista (N.M.) 5, Green Valley 4 — At Torrance, Calif., Krissy Fortner hit a walk-off inside-the-park grand slam in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Panthers past the Gators in the National Invitational Tournament.

Maggie Manwarren went 4-for-4 with two runs, and Lindsay Seberry was 2-for-3 for Green Valley, which carried a 4-1 lead into the bottom of the seventh.

With one out in the seventh, Piedra Vista drew a walk, singled and got another walk to load the bases ahead of Fortner, who laced a ball down the right-field line for the winning hit.

Damonte Ranch 4, Green Valley 0 — At Torrance, Calif., Kalyn Paque tossed a four-hit shutout to lead the Mustangs by the Gators in the National Invitational Tournament.

Seberry was 2-for-3 for Green Valley.

Wilsonville (Ore.) 3, Liberty 2 — At Bishop Gorman, Wilsonville tallied a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to nip the Patriots.

Elie Brown had a solo home run, and Raina Ladislao doubled and singled for Liberty.

Wilsonville (Ore.) 14, Bishop Gorman 3 — At Gorman, Wilsonville scored 13 runs in the final three innings to wipe out a 3-1 deficit and down the Gaels.

Shelby Estocado had a solo home run for Gorman.

Pahranagat Valley 15-9, Lincoln County JV 2-3 — At Panaca, Kyla Mortensen was a combined 5-for-7 with two doubles and five RBIs and picked up the win in the second game as the Panthers took a pair of five-inning games from the Lynx’s junior varsity.

Mortensen went 3-for-4 with a double and five RBIs in the opener. Bailee Hosier was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Panthers, who got a four-hitter from Kennedy Huntsman.

Mortensen went 2-for-3 with a double and tossed a seven-hitter in the nightcap.
