ROUNDUP: Stover’s double leads Panthers past Bulldogs

Lauryn Stover drove in two runs with a double in the bottom of the first inning Monday to help Palo Verde’s softball team defeat visiting Centennial, 3-1.

Melissa McCormick tossed a four-hitter and struck out seven for the Panthers. She also went 2-for-3, including an RBI single in the fifth inning.

Alyssa Finger was 1-for-2 with a triple, and Bailie Nelson was 1-for-2 with an RBI for the Bulldogs.

Legacy 5, Shadow Ridge 4 — At Legacy, Jessie Wilhelm’s triple in the bottom of the seventh inning plated Kayla Murray with the winning run as the Longhorns stormed back from a 4-0 deficit to edge the Mustangs.

Wilhelm was 2-for-4 with a triple, a double and two RBis, and Murray went 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI for Legacy. Darcey Cochran went 4-for-4 and scored a run for the Longhorns, who tallied three runs in the sixth and two in the seventh.

Cimarron-Memorial 14, Faith Lutheran 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Carrie Sheehan fired a one-hitter and struck out six as the Spartans rolled past the Crusaders in six innings.

Sheehan took a no-hitter into the sixth inning before Faith Lutheran’s Caitlyn Crosby collected her team’s lone hit.

Mia Hale went 2-for-3 for the Spartans.

Desert Oasis 7, Pahrump Valley 0 — At Pahrump, Lenzi Cram tossed a two-hitter and struck out seven as the Diamondbacks blanked the Trojans.

Emily Heinz was 2-for-3, and teammates C.J. Wilson and Andrea McIntosh each went 2-for-4 for Desert Oasis.

Clark 4, Bishop Gorman 1 — At Clark, Julia Hagen threw a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts to lead the Chargers past the Gaels.

Hagen took a no-hitter into the seventh before allowing a single to Machenzie Tucky with no outs.

The winning pitcher also went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and J.J. Fukuda added two hits for Clark.

Las Vegas 13, Desert Pines 2 — At Las Vegas High, Chelsea Lewis was 3-for-3 with a double to help the Wildcats cruise past the Jaguars in five innings.

Ashly Westgarth was 2-for-2 with a double, and Jenice Guttierez went 2-for-4 with a double for Las Vegas.

Teresa Ibarra was 2-for-3 for Desert Pines.

Rancho 10, Chaparral 1 — At Chaparral, Aly Lamboo tossed a three-hitter with nine strikeouts and went 2-for-4 in the Rams’ win over the Cowboys.

Meridee Drury was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI for Rancho.

Kendy Reynoso was 2-for-2 for Chaparral.

Valley 13, Canyon Springs 2 — At Valley, Mickayla Romero was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs to help the Vikings to the five-inning win.

Nicholette Corona went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored, and Lucelly Arias was 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored for Valley.

Marquee Valezquez was 2-for-3 with a run for the Pioneers.

Eldorado 18, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Eldorado, Gabriela Trillo was 4-for-4 with two doubles, three runs and six RBIs to lead the Sundevils to the five-inning win.

Taylor Schroeder was 3-for-4 with a double and four runs for Eldorado.

Ashley Jarzombek only allowed a leadoff double to earn the win. She struck out six.
