TENNIS: Singles sweep sends Desert Oasis boys by Spartans

Ben Gajardo, Alejandro Romero and Caiden Jacob each went 3-0 in singles Tuesday to help host Desert Oasis’ boys tennis team to a 14-4 win over Cimarron-Memorial.

The doubles teams of Erick Forbush and Diego Cardoso, and Adrianne Lopez and Noah Loeffler both went 2-1 for the Spartans.

Centennial 11, Bonanza 7 — At Bonanza, the doubles teams of Raul Saucedo and Benjamin Siegel, and Nathan Long and Tristan Valles each finished 3-0 to power the Bulldogs past the Bengals.

Weston Clark was 3-0 in singles for Bonanza, and teammate Justin Balconi went 2-1 in singles.

Boulder City 12, Del Sol 6 — At Del Sol, Andre Pappas was 3-0 in singles to help the Eagles top the Dragons.

Zach Trujillo and Andres Limon-Padilla were 3-0 in doubles, and Christian Wallace was 2-1 in singles for Del Sol.

Moapa Valley 14, Virgin Valley 4 — At Mesquite, Andy Beckstrand was 3-0 in singles to help the Pirates top the Bulldogs.

Koby Frei was 2-0 in singles for Moapa Valley.

Liberty 14, Las Vegas 4 — At Liberty, Kevin Bloomquist was 3-0 in singles to help the Patriots defeat the Wildcats.

Desert Pines 16, Tech 1 — At Desert Pines, Edgar Diaz and Alfredo Murillo went 3-0 in doubles as the Jaguars powered past the Roadrunners.

Valley 12, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, the Vikings won by forfeit.

Chaparral 12, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Sunrise Mountain, the Cowboys won by forfeit.

GIRLS

Moapa Valley 10, Virgin Valley 9 — At Mesquite, Hannah Rust and Lindsey Leavitt went 3-0 in doubles, and the Pirates won the tiebreaker to nip the Bulldogs.

After the teams split the 18 regulation sets, each won three tiebreaker games, but Moapa Valley outscored Virgin Valley, 27-23 in the six tiebreakers to earn the win.

Natilyn Faught was 3-0 in singles for Virgin Valley.

Bonanza 13, Centennial 5 — At Bonanza, the doubles teams of Caroline Thuet and Abby Lords, and Emmalee Glover and Brittany Bates each went 3-0 to lead the Bengals by the Bulldogs.

Ashlee McKenna also was 3-0 in singles for Bonanza.

Centennial’s Forrest Warner-McRoy was 2-1 in singles.

Desert Pines 13, Tech 5 — At Desert Pines, Ashley Palacios was 3-0 in singles, and the Jaguars swept the nine doubles sets to down the Roadrunners.

The doubles teams of Shelly Alvarado and Cecilia Garcia-Leon, Stephanie Aviles and Cassandra Bueno, and Veronica Palacios and Dori Harper all went 3-0 for Desert Pines.

Chaparral 13, Sunrise Mountain 5 — At Sunrise Mountain, Joana Naguit went 3-0 in singles to lead the Cowboys by the Miners.

Cimarron-Memorial 14, Desert Oasis 4 — At Desert Oasis, Justine Felix and Makenna Osborne each went 3-0 in singles to help the Spartans top the Diamondbacks.

Sydnie Roberts and Tasia Moore were 3-0 in doubles for Cimarron.

Valley 15, Canyon Springs 3 — At Canyon Springs, Alexandra Jianu and Alexnadra Angelov each went 3-0 in singles as the Vikings downed the Pioneers.

Claire Angel and Annelisa Laizure went 3-0 in doubles, and teammates Katie Streit and Danielle Bradley went 2-1 in doubles for Valley.

Liberty 16, Las Vegas 2 — At Liberty, Jada Whited went 3-0 in singles to help the Patriots cruise past the Wildcats.

Boulder City 12, Del Sol 0 — At Del Sol, the Eagles won by forfeit.
