TENNIS: Gators girls slip past Falcons

Olivia Nhaisi and Daria Shalina went 3-0 in doubles Thursday to help Green Valley’s girls tennis team hold off visiting Foothill, 11-7.

Elle Johnsong and Racquel Holder were 2-0 in doubles for the Gators.

Lilly Nettles was 3-0 in singles for the Falcons.

Valley 11, Las Vegas 7 — At Valley, the doubles team of Annelisa Laizure and Carolina Pena-Navarro went 3-0 to lead the Vikings past the Wildcats.

Karla Torrez and Jana Espares each went 3-0 in singles for the Wildcats.

Arbor View 10, Desert Oasis 8 — At Desert Oasis, Devin Diesko and Catherine Arizmendez each went 3-0 in singles to lift the Aggies past the Diamondbacks.

The doubles teams of Courtney Peritz and Charlene Velasco, and Steffi Del Rosario and Sabrina Otero each went 3-0 for Desert Oasis.

Sierra Vista 10, Cheyenne 8 — At Cheyenne, Averiana Mitchell went 3-0 in singles, and Janae Newton was 2-1 in singles to help the Mountain Lions edge the Desert Shields.

Cierra McFarland and Destiny Rose were 3-0 in doubles for Cheyenne. Gabi Denton went 2-1 in singles, and Sabrina Ramirez and Viviana Corella were 2-1 in doubles for the Desert Shields.

Clark 14, Spring Valley 4 — At Clark, Paige Smith and Michelle Zhu each went 2-0 in singles as the Chargers downed the Grizzlies.

Elissa Gray and Connie Shen went 2-0 in doubles for Clark.

Bonanza 15, Cimarron-Memorial 3 — At Cimarron, Lauren Smith and Emma Nelson each went 3-0 in singles to power the Bengals past the Spartans.

Phoebe Nelson and Caroline Thuet went 3-0 in doubles for Bonanza.

Faith Lutheran 18, Adelson School 0 — At Red Rock Country Club, Kristain Berg and Paige Erlanger were 2-0 in doubles as the Crusaders swept the Lions.

The Meadows 12, Western 0 — At Western, the Mustangs won by forfeit.

BOYS

Valley 10, Las Vegas 8 — At Valley, Marty Heavey went 3-0 in singles to lead the Vikings past the Wildcats.

James Larson went 2-1 in singles for the Vikings.

Benjamin Bowen went 2-1 in singles for the Wildcats.

Foothill 10, Green Valley 9 — At Green Valley, the Falcons nipped the Gators in a tiebreaker.

After the teams split the 18 regulation sets, each team won three of the six tiebreaker games, but Foothill outscored Green Valley 36-35 in those six games to earn the win.

Arbor View 12, Desert Oasis 6 — At Desert Oasis, the doubles teams of Travis Norland and Dustin Leavitt, and John David and Lucas Cordova each went 3-0 to lead the Aggies past the Diamondbacks.

Bryce Tacker went 3-0 in singles for Desert Oasis.

Clark 12, Spring Valley 6 — At Clark, the doubles teams of Chaitanya Ingle and Marcus Pasimio, and Christian Ong and Justin Ong both went 3-0 as the Chargers beat the Grizzlies.

Eric Clark was 3-0 in singles, and Christopher Zimmerman went 2-1 in singles for Spring Valley.

The Meadows 13, Western 5 — At Western, Brian Capp and Ryan Chang went 2-0 in doubles to lead the Mustangs by the Warriors.

Ainsley Osawa finished 3-0 in singles for Western.

Bonanza 14, Cimarron-Memorial 3 — At Cimarron, Andy Stephenson and Cyrus Nelson each went 2-0 in singles to lead the Bengals past the Spartans.

Michael DeViva and Chance DeRosa went 2-0 in doubles for the Bengals.

Faith Lutheran 14, Adelson School 4 — At Red Rock Country Club, Jack Stevens and Mario Stadtlander each went 2-0 in singles as the Crusaders downed the Lions.

Sierra Vista 12, Cheyenne 0 — At Sierra Vista, the Mountain Lions won by forfeit.
