TENNIS: Ryan, Gorman girls advance to Sunset final

Monika Ryan went 2-0 in singles Thursday to help Bishop Gorman’s girls tennis team to a 12-6 win at Bonanza in a Sunset Region semifinal.

Stefania Ingaramo and Sadie Klassen went 2-0 in doubles for the Gaels (8-2), who will face Palo Verde (13-0) for the region title at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Darling Tennis Center.

Bonanza finished 13-2.

Palo Verde 18, Arbor View 0 — At Palo Verde, Annie Walker was 3-0 in singles as the Panthers blanked the Aggies (9-3).

Kristen Newell was 2-0 in singles, and Michaela Jackson and Alissa Till were 2-0 in doubles for Palo Verde.

SUNRISE REGION

Coronado 12, Liberty 6 — At Liberty, Samantha Smith went 3-0 in singles as the Cougars topped the Patriots (11-2) in a Sunrise Region semifinal.

Coronado (9-3) will face Green Valley (13-0) for the region title at 1 p.m. Friday at Darling Tennis Center.

Green Valley 16, Silverado 2 — At Green Valley, Megan Madrid was 3-0 in singles as the Gators downed the Skyhawks (8-4).

Josie Legarza was 2-0 in singles for Green Valley.

DIVISION I-A SOUTHERN REGION

The Meadows 17, Boulder City 1 — At Boulder City, Ava Frazier and Erika Reiter each went 3-0 in singles as the Mustangs (12-2) downed the Eagles (9-2) in a Southern Region semifinal.

The Meadows will meet Faith Lutheran (14-1) in the region final at 4 p.m. Friday at Darling Tennis Center. Both teams will advance to the state tournament.

Faith Lutheran 13, Clark 5 — At Darling Tennis Center, Kathleen Wright was 2-0 in singles to help the Crusaders top the Chargers (10-3).

Kristina Berg and Vanessa Lee were 2-0 in doubles for Faith Lutheran.
