Weston helps Palo Verde volleyball finish third in tournament

Andrew Weston had 21 assists Saturday as Palo Verde’s boys volleyball team defeated Cienega (Ariz.) 2-0 for third place in the Falcon Invitational in Catalina Foothills, Ariz.

Brigham Clawson added 10 kills, and Michael Simister had six kills for the Panthers, who won 25-21, 25-14.

Perry (Ariz.) defeated Palo Verde 25-21, 25-14 in the semifinals.

Weston had 24 assists, and Clawson had 12 kills for the Panthers. Simister added seven kills and five digs.

Weston had 19 assists as Palo Verde opened Saturday’s play with a 25-17, 25-20 victory over Catalina Foothills (Ariz.).

Clawson had 10 kills and four digs, and Ryan Nielson had six digs for the Panthers.

Clawson and Simister were named to the all-tournament team.
