Outlook: Smith takes over a team that brings back two starters this season. Western narrowly missed a playoff berth last year.
“This year we hope to lay the foundation to build the Western High School volleyball program into a consistent winner,” Smith said. “We expect to be competitive within our league and push for a playoff spot.
“Our team is going through a bit of a youth movement after having lost many seniors to graduation. Fans can expect to see a disciplined team growing in skills as the season progresses.”
