13 named to Nevada’s 150th Anniversary Commission
CARSON CITY — Thirteen Nevada residents, including a former Las Vegas mayor, were appointed Wednesday by Gov. Brian Sandoval to serve as members of the state’s 150th Anniversary Commission.

Members include former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman and Bob Brown, publisher of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The commission will try to raise at least $2.5 million in private funds to cover costs of the celebration. No state funds are being used in the effort.
