53-year-old struck, killed by car identified
The 53-year-old man struck and killed by a car while crossing Desert Inn Road Monday night has been identified as Scott Vera.
Vera was illegally walking south across the street near Mojave Road when he was struck by a 1997 Ford Thunderbird at 7:20 p.m.
He was taken to University Medical Center, where he died.
